A Long Japanese Winter

January 31, 2008 · 16 comments

It’s been a quiet week for me this week, we’re in the middle of long winter and it’s cold. Tomorrow signifies the beginning of the last official month of weather and fingers crossed it’s on the improve.

I’m changing hosting companies at the moment due to traffic restrictions and things have been troublesome to say the least. I expect to have it all sorted out in the next few days and i see February being a busy month for me with a few site changes, maybe a competition and hopefully continue increase in readers.

In about 2 months time we’ll be experiencing another Cherry Blossom season, a great time of the year for throwing the frisbee in Yoyogi Park like this young lass last year.

That is almost a prefect pic…however it is a bit fuzzy…bummer…
If you have the slightest gumption to go with Dreamhost – (perhaps, that is who you are using now -opps, in that case) anyhow…if you are gonna go with them mail me!

Agree, hopefully i can see some similar sites this year.

As for hosting, i have already switched to Micfo Nathan, just having some troubles with the DNS reverting back to the old host, should be sorted once and for all in the next day or so.

Good to see your site up and running again. As for the photo, it almost seems like you’re one of those creepy guys hanging around schools taking pictures of little girls ;)

Haha, just happen to be in the right place at the right time Leo. Don’t get me started on the content in a lot of your photos!

Hey, they’re all willing participants!
Besides, an accusation is not a conviction ;)

Long, cold winter? I don’t know about that. This must be my first Japanese winter without snow! That said, I’m still looking forward to warmer weather, and having seen that photo, I might have to take up frisbee! ;)

Well it’s felt pretty cold for me, and i’ve counted 3 days with snow in Tokyo this year compared to 0 last … not enough to worry about but snow nevertheless!

Being used to and loving a warm climate anything more than a few weeks of the cold is enough for me.

It’s pretty tame by most standards but coming from Australia it’s still a lot harsher for me.

Gotta comment again on this pic…
Regardless of the blurriness, there is something going on in this one…
Perhaps it is the voyeur essence or the silent story that this moment creates for me. I can totally imagine this scene, perhaps a bit tipsy under the trees with Friends…and Wham! This woman appears – it is almost like a dream…

It was a rushed shot, i had seen the girl and wanted to take a pic … the Friends i was with were a bit jubious but i did anyway. I’ll e-mail you the original Nathan.
