Canon IXY Digital 1000 Up For Grabs

November 19, 2007 · 14 comments

On the weekend i upgraded my camera to the new Canon IXY Digital 2000is replacing the existing Canon IXY Digital 1000 i had.  There`s nothing wrong with my existing camera but living in Japan and having toys like these so cheap and close to hand it`s hard not to upgrade to the latest model when they hit the stores. One of the major reasons i bit the bullet was the new `Image Stabilisation` feature … this will come in handy as it`s probably my biggest issue taking photos to date.

I`ve taken some great photos over the last 12 months, through my travels in Japan, Seoul and more recently Taipei, however my favourite photo would have to be when i was back in Australia at the beginning of the year.

Out on a Friends boat with a heap of mates we cruised out from Docklands into Port Phillip Bay, the music was cranked up as were the beers …. so was Mousee, dancing up a storm at the front of the boat. I`ll be looking forward to some of these good times when i`m back there in around 4 weeks time for my Xmas.

Unfortunately i had to scale the photo back incredibly to get it in the blog but i`m sure you`ll get the idea.

In case you’re wondering if it’s worth entering or not, here’s a few details on the Camera;

The Digital IXY 1000 features:

  • Titanium body with Perpetual Curve design and Touch Control Dial
  • 10.0 Megapixels and 3x optical zoom
  • DIGIC III with Advanced Noise Reduction and Face Detection AF/AE
  • Digital Tele-Converter and Safety Zoom for extra telephoto reach
  • 2.5” super-high resolution LCD with wide viewing angle
  • ISO 1600 for flash-free low light shooting
  • 18 shooting modes including XGA movies
  • My Category automatic image tagging
  • Range of optional accessories including Underwater Case

Over the coming days i`ll roll out a competition and find the lucky recipient of the `Old` camera. Be sure to check back often and get all the details.

I’m still keen to know what a guy has to do to win a camera?
Or get on your blogroll.

Love the pic, Duck. Unmistakably Melbourne with the Bolte Bridge in the background. I can understand that Tokyo is good but Melbourne in summertime can’t be beat.

Tokyo does have it going on Nathan but it a very different way to Melbourne … i don’t find myself doing too much during the days here and even if i did it wouldn’t compare to a lot of the things i did back home .. still both have there advantages. I am one lucky guy though. ;)

The Bolte Bridge could be mistaken for the Rainbow Bridge in Odaiba in Tokyo.
