Well not so Dirty, actually not Dirty at all unfortunately, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend away from Tokyo. Kamogawa was the location we were headed for, a city in Chiba, Japan. All up, 10 of us headed up to a Friends house to celebrate their recent wedding and celebrate we did.
The weekend began at Shinjuku station around 11:30 then on to Tokyo station to meet the others, usual story, grab plenty of grog and a little food for the journey. This weekend was no different to any other, i knew i`d be out of control until i walked back through the door at home, by out of control i mean, not in charge of how my time was spent … and of course a little inhebriated at times. Both turned out to be correct, i was led from pillar to post over the 36 or so hours i spent in Kamogawa, never really knowing what was next, but all the while doing it with a beer in hand.
Once we arrived in Kamogawa we were driven straight to the first Onsen, the Kamogawa Grand right on the water front. This was my first trip back to an Onsen since i had that nasty accident back in February, don`t remember? Here`s a little reminder.

After a few hours in 40+ degrees hot springs it was time to get things going with a few more beers, this time our spot was in the bar overlooking the ocean, as the sun went down, very relaxing indeeed and it`s a place i`ll definitely go back too.
The party was as Japanese as it gets, more food than you can poke a stick at and a great selection of grog. Living on a farm there`s no shortage of fresh produce up that way and the highlight for me was the wild boar although the Maguro was probably the favourite for most. Lucky for us we had the son of the local sushi bar i frequent with us, so he got handy with food preparation later in the night.

These parties all start and end the same, lots of eating and drinking, and that`s fine by me, and with it being winter and all the spots closest to the fire or kotatsu are the most popular. There`s only so much beer you can drink so after a decent skinful i moved on to the red wine, then the cold sake and late in the night the hot sake, the last picture shows a container of hot sake heating in the fire, and me reasonably cooked too. The journey home Sunday afternoon was done with a little less enthusiam the day before, a lot fewer beers too.

Man, ouch.
Looked like a good time.
It hurt like all get out too Nathan, had to go to the hospital every day for 3 weeks …. took a good few months to probably heal. Guess it confirmed the onsen was heated naturally by the volcano it was located on!
What I liked in the onsen – the one you get on the balcony of your hotel room, was the wooden floating bucket/tray that holds beers
Whoa. Foot on top of the maguro. Interesting photo layout, lol!
Oh God!!! Ewww!! Geezus!! Ughh!
Maybe i should have used a thumbnail for that pic Leo!
Yes! for sure.
How much time did it take to cure.
Visiting the hospital every day for 3 weeks then it was atleast 3 months till it was all healed. Still scarred now a year later.
Probably doesn’t help with the smell much either
Wow, that’s pretty damn painful to look at, I can’t imagine what it actually must have FELT like.
OMG!!! That looks grossly painful. Hope you don’t suffer that again.
OUCH!!!! That looks like major pain!

Atsukan on fire?
Anyway, love your victory sign – and I peace you back.
Greetings and lotta loves from Malaysia.
Yes, Atsukan refers to heated Sake … usually drunk in cold weather but no problems in the hot either!
major OUCH!
Like you wouldn’t believe.
So what happened to your foot there?
I was at an onsen in the snow, outside and stark naked, i stood on the wrong patch of snow as i was moving around to get in the water and my leg went through and into the volcanic heated water below. It was like driving my leg through a bucket of razor blades.
lucky you didnt go in all the way to your balls!
the sake in the fire…awesome!
you look comfortably numb. sugoi.
Yeh, i often think that Chuck, very lucky indeed. As for the sake, it got me pretty toasted!
