Factron Quattro For iPhone

The ultimate in iPhone cases would have to be the Factron Quattro as seen on Engadget Japan.

Not only is it built from Aluminium and bolted together with metals screws it comes with a range of bolt on lenses from a fish eye to wide angle and macro.

It looks very well built but i can`t help to think the weight would be significantly increased.

As for putting it in your pocket, it`s only going to be harder with these sharp corners.

I`d be interested to see how the camera add-ons perform … but at the end of the day it`s still a phone camera.

At a price of about USD$175 for the case and between $15 and $50 for the lenses it`s probably too highly priced for most.

All things considered, I`ll just stick with my iPhone as it is.

Check out the manufacturers` site, only in Japanese, for more info on the Factron Quattro and other accessories for lots of Apple products.

Looks pretty slick but with those big edges I’m guessing it is a little over-sized for the universal dock.

I think that this is really cool, but this really adds a lot lot of weight to the iphone… I am not so sure if this would be really cool for backpack traveling, though it would be great to combine this to portable solar panels. I have also tried to share this with my Friends over at http://www.baraaza.com/contest/

Round of them corners and I’d buy one.

After I **cough** get my iphone ;)

I agree – the sharp corner make it look clunky, not sleek as I imagine the designers were going for. Then again, what do I know; I always go for the free phone.

As was pointed out to me last night Jay, the case would cut up the back of your phone with the slightest of movement so it`s something to consider.

I’ll looks like it might be popular with the cargo pants-sporting, chain-dragging types in Shibuya and Harajuku.

Wow! Talking about cashing in on the hype of iPhones. Great innovative ideas, but, personally for me, I wont fit that in if I happen to own one, Looks bulky and ugly, but the lens ‘add-on’ is intriguing.

Wow, what is your problem? Don’t like it, don’t buy it, go watch TV. This thing is dope.

No problem, just an opinion. Watching TV at the moment.

Whoah O_o – tis like turning a mini cooper into a hummer. Its probably better than those silicone cases that clings onto fabric – but on the other hand… as youve mentioned Aluminium corners vs Pants >_<
