Cheers Ewan, appreciate the advice. I have Photomatix Pro and have had a play around with a few test images lately. I think the images i'm using are still lacking that "HDR" friendly appeal so i'll have to make a better effort to get something that is.

There's surprisingly few options in that software so i'm guessing it can't be that hard to follow a few general rules of thumb and come up with a good image or 2.

Will take you up on the offer of advice too!

Hi Neil.

Cheers for sharing my work, i'm so glad you like it! The photo was taken in Miyajima, Japan during the spring [cherry blossom =)]. With regards to HDR photography, you can either do it via multiple exposures or you can create a pseudo image from one raw file. The above picture was actually taken with a compact before I got a DSLR, which shows you don't need fancy equipment to take fantastic HDR shots.

As someone else pointed out, Photomatix Pro is a very very good piece of software [and coincidentally the program I used]. The shots do not need to match up perfectly, since photomatix will match features, and move the picture around until it works [though ofcourse best results will be gained from using a tripod].

I would advise not to go crazy with saturation [as is so so easy with HDR processing] as this can often make the picture look "fake". Best to make it look as natural as possible, while still retaining a HDR feel to it.

If you need any help, don't hesitate to PM me on flickr.

I only snapped a few HDR attempts off .... of nothing special either Kirk, i just wanted to test the functionality. I took some good pics from Asakusa and Shinjuku on Sunday ... the Shinjuku ones will be up later today.
