hi neil
i have been reading your blog for a while now.
and it seems you have done a lot in your first year in japan and have been lucky in finding work.
i married a japanese girl and we leave in the uk with our daughter.
but just lately i have been thinking it might be better to move to japan for the sake of our child.
but i get the impression that the only work i might find is teaching english,
which to be honest i don,t fancy doing.
what are your thoughts on this situation?.

Hey Sean, funnily enough i might be over that way sometime in the new year. I have a buddy in Shenzen and also one mate who’s moving over there from Melbourne in the near future. Will let you know as the plans firm up.

As a fellow expat living in Asia, Hong Kong to be precise, I can understand how you feel. Although I came here aged 6 (34 years ago).

Great to hear things are going so well, Duck, but as one of the mates that was left behind in Melbourne, I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that those days we all get together are definitely not the same without you there.
Your presence will also be sorely missed this ‘Movember’ (www.movember.com) when the ‘taches are again donned to support a good cause.
