Japanese Boys’ English Homework

August 8, 2008 · 17 comments

I can imagine this sort if thing is seen every day in Japan, and vice versa elsewhere in the world with young kids trying to get a grip on a foreign language.

Japanese Homework

First seen over at Matador Study

I’m sure Chris has seen his fair share of funny diary entries over the years. If teaching English in Japan is your thing then you might want to check this out.

Suguru seems like a young man who has his priorities in order.

Some of the more “classic” ones were not posted on the Diary Blog because of what they said about their sister/brother/teacher/mother etc..

Kids can be refreshingly blunt but some people have thin skin so to protect all involved I only post the non offensive ones :)

I know some people might think there is no harm with doing something like this but that guy is a pure idiot for taking his students homework and using them as comedy material on the internet especially if they aren’t being told about it. If I’m not mistaken, some teachers have gotten canned in the past because of that as well as taking photos of their students and posting them on the internet without their knowledge.

If you run your own school and have a policy that says otherwise and the students are ok with it, then whatever but still, you need to be mindful that even if it seems harmless, you are still responsible for divulging information about these young people which can be used for nefarious purposes. If I was a parent, I would have concerns about someone making that decision without my knowledge or consent. That is why some young people who post seemingly innocent bits of information on sites like Myspace get into trouble because they don’t realize how many sickos there are out there who harvest information.

As someone who does run his own successful school (91 students with about 65 of those Elem/J.H.) I would suggest you go take a pill and relax.

Haha, that’s really funny! :D I agree with Mike, if I was the teacher I would give him the highest possible grade!

That made me laugh. I’m sure you are right with learning another language a lot of things get lost in translation – i know when i tried to learn spanish i probably wrote some terrible things!

Absolute genius. Suguru-kun managed to capture the psychology of a whole society with the phrase “Pants are man’s romances”.
