Hey Neil,
Recognized your name surfing (I think it was a link from a link searching for CAM in Ebisu's Web Address...not sure now, closed the tab). We're connected on Twitter but haven't met.
Seeing I'm near the end of my second 2 year block living in Ebisu I was pleased to see so many photo's of it here - thanks very much! Love Ebisu..
(Yebisu) Beer soon?
Kind regards,
Jason Ball

Wow, the capsule hotel is $330 for a single night? At that price you'd think you could get an actual room, I'd figure the capsules would be cheaper.

I spent several years as a delinquent youth back in 1978 and 1979 playing Pachinko at the Pachinko parlor near (almost across) from the main entrance to the subway line in Ebisu. I would ride my bike from Hiroo where I lived or stop off on my way home from ASIJ.

Unfortunately, not one of your pictures looks familiar to me. I guess it has changed a lot. Those were the good old days.

hi Neil.
Great photos of the area. The Bashi is my local for a "Swift Half" after work.
(which gives away the bank I work for, if you are in finance)
The photography museum is good, but the beer museum is even better!
There's not much to see in the way of exhibits, but it has a great model and some
photos of the area in 1988 of the Sapporo brewery that encompassed the whole area before it was demolished and reconstructed into what you see today. There is a very popular tasting lounge where you can sample the 4 different beers Sapporo brew for a mere 200 Yen each ( or 400 for a set of 4 small glasses of each)
