I’ve never been to a Maid Cafe in Japan and probably never will, not my cup of tea … no pun intended … but if the girls look like this then i could probably be persuaded otherwise.

BTW, foreigners need to stop perpetuating the myth about maid cafes. They are big business and have moved beyond the image of a place for just socially inept otaku. Shops offer an expanded array of services with some catering to business people and women. Little BSD is a cosplay izakaya with long lines of business men and office ladies. A few cafes are like tourist stops catering the experience to foreign visitors.
Interesting re the Darktrap … i will look into that a little more.”Perpetuating the myth …” …. i don’t doubt they are big business, from what i hear the prices are indeed very high, as is the demand which must make for a very lucrative business. Whether or not i’d want to sit there and find any amusement / enjoyment from having a girl ’serve’ me coffee and cakes for inflated prices still remains to be seen. Hence my angle on the post …. IF the girls looked like this then count me in ….. the ones i’ve seen are a far cry from it.

Good way to attract visitors!
I’ve only had one maid cafe experience but it was extremely positive. The prices were comparable to similar cafes and the service was excellent. And contrary to the image on this post, the waitresses are dressed very conservatively. It’s not about sex, it’s about the maid fantasy. All of the girls used extremely polite language and offered to do ridiculously mundane things for the patrons, like stir their coffee for them. I would go again if my wife didn’t threaten to punch me.
I’d say it would be worth taking the punch! But that’s just me…

I think it’s a dude, now that I looked at it. At first I was wowed, that’s an incredible photo. But then I looked, it’s hard to tell with the face, the muscles (low body fat), position of hips, etc. sort of give it away to it to be something under the hood as one poster put it. Scary.
