Just read this comment.

Homemade hooch, eh? I've been to Tennessee, Alabama,... all the toothless, inbred states, but I've never tried the stuff. It would be cool if the first time was in Japan.

Yeh Jim, i like lots of foods but dont 'actually' know what they are a lot of the time ....know what it is, but ask me what animal it came from and it's often a guess.

Will take your suggestion when i get to Kyushu, i won't rule anywhere in Japan out especially somewhere serving some great Ramen.

Oh man, how can you not know what chashu is! It's roasted pork loin...fantastic.
If you guys ever get to Kyushu, you have to try Ichiran. The best tonkatsu Ramen ever. You can customize to an amazing extent--the richness of the broth, the firmness of the noodles, how much of everything, and another serving of noodles is only 150 yen.
I am also a fan of ikkyu, but I think that's mostly a Yamaguchi　thing; can't imagine you'd ever make it down here.

To Neil, Danny and Billy

My homebrewing friend (not me, of course, because homebrewing is illegal in Japan) suggests hooking up for some snacks and homemade hooch before heading out one weekend for some tasty ramen, if you have the time. :)

I am currently in Seoul, South Korea and I am really impressed with variety of food they have here. My favourite is bulgogi (grilled meat, that has to be put into salad leave with garlic and special filling) and sure gimbap (some type of Korea sushi, if I can call it like this). Anyway, I like Japanese food more but Korea still rocks :)
