Soothing Glimpses Of Tokyo

January 15, 2009 · 17 comments

My buddy Paul flicked me through this link, for 2 reasons …. firstly because it has some cool images of Tokyo but mainly because it shows what CAN be done with a small HD Video Camera.

Vimeo rocks for really cool videos, beats youtube hands down for serious stuff.

Soothing Glimpses of Tokyo from Sugoi on Vimeo.

This is the sort of thing i`d love to be able to produce with the Sanyo HD Xacti 1010 i bought a few months back …. really need to get some good editing software and this video has inspired me too.

Check out the other cool videos Sugoi has made on Vimeo.

Now I really want one of those HD video cameras, I’ll buy one in Japan since they’re probably a lot cheaper there. The video was really nice, and Vimeo is cool, but YouTube does support HD content nowadays ;)

You can get a good camera for around 60,000 yen so it’s pretty cheap here.

Very, very nice.
My Xacti 800HD has lain in the drawer too long. I’m going to watch all Sugoi’s videos and see what I can learn.

There’s a lot of fun to be had with a camera so small, it never inhibits you taking it anywhere.

That was goood! Seen far worse “professional ” pieces of work. Captures that side of Japan beautifully. Thanks for sharing. About to go join up with Vimeo.

>I picked up some Kusaya and a few beers then it was time to get moving

I think you mean, “I picked up some Kusaya, had a few beers and got the fuck out.” :)

The song from the Halo video game soundtrack kept throwing me off but the video itself was rather nice.

Wonderful video. Not what I was expecting. It really made me remember and long for the time I spent in Japan. I will always have a soft spot for the Japanese people.
