Yesterday afternoon, on the back of a big night Saturday night, i went to see a few bands at an outdoor music festival. A possie of 6 of us headed out about 30 minutes on the train from our local haunt. One of the most difficult things about days like these is not kowing the `plan`. The Japanese do things very differently to what i`m used to and i guess if my Japanese was better i`d be able t ask the necessary questions or at least pick up on their comversation better. No need for examples, it should be clear shortly. A buddy bought 12 beers and off we went to watch the band. We get to the stage and find a spot, then he gets up with the 12 beers and drops them down to the band in which his buddy plays guitar, Stevie Wonderful. I expect it was clear to the rest of them who the beers were for but not me. I will point out the Friends i was with are the owner of the bar, 2 staff and 2 other patrons, so they all love a drink, although it would seem, not so much into drinking during the middle of the day. I managed to slide a few beers down, nothing excessive then after a few hrs and as the sunset we decided to move on to Roppongi for some darts and beers.
Bowling had also been mentioned at some stage however i wasn`t 100% on what the plan was. It`s a national holiday here in Japan so anything that was put on the table last night was good with me. We found a darts bar in the pong and were lucky enough to see former world champion Paul Lim piff a few darts at the board. By now the others were drinking and the darts and fuseball was the source of enterntainment. About 8.30 and the natives were getting restless. The plan was now clear, everyone was going home for a few hrs then we were meet back at the bar at midnight for bowling, 20 people were expected. This is where i struggle with the plan, had we continued on and had a few beers i was a starter but going home or a few hrs kills me and i had no problem sending the apology email at 11pm. Early night for me and fighting fit for my Japanese lesson later today.

Sounds like a good time, regardless of the bit of confusion in the beginning. I really like the first photo, it brought me back to the last time I was out in Japan.
I almost kind of wish that the US had a ‘game’ culture like they do over there. I would love a night where I’m not just hopping from club to club or sitting in a bar. Having a night where you plan on playing a variety of bar sports, singing karaoke and then going bowling would be great.
Yeh, It`s a lot of fun here Jerad and the game culture is amazing. It still surprises me to see how the girls especially get some into Darts, Fuseball, 10 pin bowling … they just love it, as i do!
