Chinatsu Wakatsuki (若槻千夏) is a popular Japanese Gravure idol, actress, former race queen and singer. She is not to be confused with the AV star of the same name and spelling.

Chinatsu who’s real name is Kurihara Chiharu (栗原千春) was born on May 28th, 1984 Yoshimimachi, in Hiki-gun, Saitama, Japan

After a few early setbacks, namely auditioning for Morning Musume in 2000 but did not make it, Chinatsu went on to make her official debut in 2001 in magazines, variety programs and Gravure websites … this is when she went the name change.

It’s that time again and thanks to a solid suggestion from jonhox i’ve been exposed to a new J-Babe this week, the lovely Mihiro Taniguchi.

Mihiro Taniguchi is 25 and has Japanese actress, singer and AV Idol listed as her achievements to date. Originally from Kashiwazaki City in Niigata she emerged on the scene back in 2004 with a debut number called Sun Flower.

Her career in AV started in 2005 although i’ve not familiar with her work i’m sure she must be pretty talented in this field after having appeared in 50 odd movies.

As with recent nominees that have ventured into the world of AV it’s increasingly hard to find appropriate photos that don’t involve nudity, but a little digging though the annals of Google uncovered these little beauties.

The whole school girl thing is super big in Japan. Lots of guys get their Girlfriends to dress up in this stuff.

Last week i came up with the idea to visit all 29 stops on the JR Yamanote Line. After a false start with a flat battery in my Canon Camera this week i returned to Akihabara, the first pitstop on the Amazing Race, well not so amazing and not a race at all, just a massive fan of the show so i couldn’t resist throwing a reference in.

On the weekends in Akihabara the main drag is closed to traffic and the streets swell with interesting sights, sounds and smells.

As a Gaijin in Japan, Akihabara is the place to go for English versions of Software, it’s also the place anyone with the slightest interest in Anime and Cosplay. Although i’m sure there are many other facets to Akihabara, it’s best known for it’s vast Electric Town. I’m not going to uncover massive amounts of traditional culture in Akihabara, that’s not what most people are looking for when they come here and it’s not what they get.

Akihabara

Akihabara (秋葉原) (“Field of Autumn Leaves”), also known as Akihabara Electric Town (秋葉原電気街 Akihabara Denki Gai) Its name is frequently shortened to Akiba in Japan. While there is an official locality named Akihabara nearby, part of Taitō-ku, the area known to most people as Akihabara (including the railway station of the same name) is actually Soto-Kanda, a part of Chiyoda-ku.
