Since seeing these types images for the first time a year or so ago i’m glad my new camera has an in built function to take the series of under and over exposed images in quick succession with very little work from me.

Over the course of the weekend i will be attempting my first HDR image and if i can get even the slightest level of success i’ll be well happy with myself.
One of the more interesting sites in Japan on a Sunday is Harajuku and the surrounding areas, from Meiji Jingu Shrine to of course the bridge leading over to it, where most Sundays there’ll be a gathering of Japanese youth dressed in their cosplay of choice.
New camera in hand i took a walk around Harajuku last weekend.

The Shrine was quite busy on what was a pretty cold winters day.
While on my way to take some pics of the Seijin No Hi action the other week i came across this display of Ice Sculptures in Harajuku.
What i thought was going to be 1/2 a dozen or so sculptures turned into at least 30 and it made for a scenic walk down to the shrine.

Too bad all the photos have that damn red rope in front of them, kind of spoils it but you get the idea.
