On yesterdays trip to Gala Yuzawa i saw what would have to be best described as a pretty keen snowboarding family.
The youngest at the front, probably a out 5 or 6 yrs old with the wife and father close behind.

Dude-san also had his youngest strapped to his front, fast asleep mind you.
For quite a while there i thought i was immune to the recession in Japan and maybe i still am. With the Australian dollar very low against the yen it puts me in a pretty good position to service a few investments back home … for as long as i’m earning in Japan that is.
So, it would be fair to say the current world economic situation is not my bag and i rely alot on main stream media like Time and CNN to tell me what’s hot and what’s not but really, i think the best judge of how it’s affecting the people that live here is to as them and on Twitter this morning i did.

This weeks snowboarding adventure saw me take on some new territory, Kagura Ski Resort in the Yuzawa region.
Kagura is bigger and badder than the other mountains i`ve been to so far and today i have the soreness to prove it.
It`s always a great view when you get to the peak ready to get stuck into it.

You can get to Kagura by taxi or bus after arriving at the Echigo-Yuzawa station courtesy of the Shinkansen from Tokyo.
