On yesterdays trip to Gala Yuzawa i saw what would have to be best described as a pretty keen snowboarding family.
The youngest at the front, probably a out 5 or 6 yrs old with the wife and father close behind.

Dude-san also had his youngest strapped to his front, fast asleep mind you.
This weeks snowboarding adventure saw me take on some new territory, Kagura Ski Resort in the Yuzawa region.
Kagura is bigger and badder than the other mountains i`ve been to so far and today i have the soreness to prove it.
It`s always a great view when you get to the peak ready to get stuck into it.

You can get to Kagura by taxi or bus after arriving at the Echigo-Yuzawa station courtesy of the Shinkansen from Tokyo.
I took a run up to Iwappara for the first time on Saturday, it was also my first snowboard outing for 2009 …. and i loved it.
Iwappara Ski Resort is about 90 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo, an easy journey out and back.

It was a pretty average day, a bit overcast and rainy at times.
