Tokyo Reality

As the purchase of a DSLR Camera looms i’ve spent the last few weeks perusing many sites and reading many many reviews on the cameras currently dominating the market place.

The research has, if nothing else, show me some great examples of what can be done with the technology these days, not to mention how photogenic Japan is.

Tokyo Reality (Canon 5D MarkII) from utsuru on Vimeo.

I commented a few weeks back how i’d love to be able to produce something as remotely impressive as this with the Sanyo Xacti HD 1010 i recently purchased after seeing this video, shot with a high end still camera that has fantastic video capability, i’m even more inspired.

Thanks to Mikey for the heads up on this clip.

Yeah, there are some amazing photos/videos of Japan out there. My area doesn’t have anything that nice remotely close. I’m sure there are pretty aspects of it, but not really close by.

Interesting you should mention buying a DSLR. I just did a comparison between my compact and DSLR. Definitely worth the money, but of course, your pictures won’t magically be incredible if you can’t compose them well (I can’t really yet).

I actually read that the other day. The DSLR i`m looking at getting is an bit more advanced that the one you`ve used for the comparison so i`m hoping for bigger differences.

That Canon is an amazing camera. You have an HD video camera but the lenses of a professional still camera. Makes for some amazing video that you would previously only have the ability to make if you had access to hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

Japan is a great place for photography. I wish I was there for a day. My camera would be loaded with pictures.
