They’re everywhere, it’s as simple as that. It’s very handy for the consumer and no doubt quite lucritive for those that own them but that’s where i thought it stopped.
Enter, Ryuuichi Ikeda from Sapporo, who likes one particular Vending Machine so much, he has taken a photograph of it everyday for the last 2 years.
The title of Ikeda-sans blog is 私は毎日(のように)自動販売機の写真を撮っています。ごめんなさい。which roughly translates to “I take a photograph of the vending machine everyday, i am sorry” which in itself is funny enough.
According to CScout Japan “we can now gauge the general time when the vending machines add the “hot” function for wintertime beverages (after the second week of October). His blog notes also reveal a bit of nostalgia for 2005 when he laments that it now “has too many stickers”. When he’s busy or goes on a business trip, his wife takes the photos for him, so we never go long without an update.”

Ikeda-san also keeps some photos on flickr of Coke Machines he’s seen while on the road. You can visit Ikeda-sans blog here or read about it more from the original translated article here.

This is what blogging is all about! Now come on Ikeda-san, let’s have a live web feed!
Very strange and Interesting.
I love quirky blogs…..and I like how he gets his wife involved too…
I’ve heard that blogging as therapy, but this guy needs some real therapy. Or not. Interesting, either way.
It never ceases to amaze me how often a Japanese blogger will do something completely different from the rest of us. While we’re all talking about life or things that bug us, these people are taking pictures of vending machines, their cat, or some other obscure subject.
Blogging as art?
Strange and funny hobby
There are an infinite amount of niches’ on the net!!
Thank god for that !!!
You can really tell when the seasons change here when the drinks switch from hot to cold! My friend sent me out for an espresso the other night, but no dice – it was all iced.
Phew…a photograph a day ? Amazing. :]
I saw them everywhere, but I never saw anyone actually using one.
it would be great.
